Sant'Ambrogio Days in Milan
A true Milan institution, where it is called the "Oh bej Oh bej" Fair.
During the celebrations for St. Ambrose, a great Bishop from the 4th century and patron of Milan, an immense crowd pours into the homonymous piazza and browses among the innumerable stands of every type: dresses, furniture, ethnic objects, furnishings, crafts, cakes and sweets, hot mulled wine and handmade clothing; the market is open from the morning until late in the evening.
This market has a very ancient tradition and is much loved by the children. It's name comes from the exclamations of joy from the mouths of the children. "Oh Bej! Oh Bej!" which in Milanese dialect means, in fact, How pretty! How pretty!
From 5 to 8 December, Piazza Sant'Ambrogio, Milan
